Description
Why this frame
The W253 is the W252’s sportier sibling with one addition that matters in practice: indirect venting. Fogging is the reason safety glasses end up pushed onto a forehead, so a frame that vents does more for compliance than any policy poster. The vents are indirect, so they move air without opening a straight path for debris.
The prescription sits in an insert
Like the W252, the prescription goes into a flush-mounted 6-base insert behind the wrapped front rather than being glazed into the curve — that is what keeps stronger prescriptions available in a wraparound shape. Blue and gunmetal are the same frame.
What the certification means here
This frame is rated to ANSI Z87.1 and CSA Z94.3. Both marks are stamped on the frame, so the pair documents itself on a walkthrough. The rating covers the frame and lens as an assembly, which is why the lens is polycarbonate — a certified frame carrying an uncertified lens is not a certified pair.
