Long temples, removable shields

SIDEWINDER runs the longest temples in the plastic line at 138 mm, on a 57 mm lens with a 37 mm lens height. Side shields are removable.

The temples are the story

138 mm temples suit deeper head shapes and sit further back before they turn down, which keeps pressure off the top of the ear across a long shift. Most complaints about safety glasses being uncomfortable after four hours are temple complaints, not lens complaints.

Shields you can take off

Standard removable side shields are supplied with the frame. They come off for office or customer-facing work and go back on for the floor — but the Z87.1 side-protection rating only applies while they are fitted, so they are a decision the wearer makes each time, not a set-and-forget.

Three patterned finishes

Black/Blue, Black/Tortoise and Brown Stripe — all two-tone rather than solid, which is unusual in this category.
