Metal frame with room for a progressive

SVSS 12 pairs a compact 54 mm lens width with a 38 mm lens height — unusually deep for a metal safety frame this narrow, and the reason to pick it when the wearer is in progressives.

Depth is the point

Most narrow metal frames run 31–35 mm deep, which forces the lab to compress a progressive corridor. At 38 mm the SVSS 12 gives back the vertical space where the intermediate and reading zones actually live. It is the same lens height as the much larger Guardian, in a frame 4 mm narrower.

Side shields that come off

Removable side shields are supplied with the frame. They are the standard SafeVision shield, so a lost pair is a part order rather than a new frame — but note the Z87.1 side-protection rating only holds while they are fitted.

Two finishes, two jobs

Matte Black disappears on a jobsite; Antique Silver is the one to hand someone who wears these into meetings as well as onto the floor.
