The 2.5 is the current-generation refresh of Wiley X’s Breach platform. Key updates over the original: Dynamic Ventilation System engineered into the frame for active anti-fog performance, removable foam gasket for converting between sealed and open configurations, refined high-wrap shield geometry for improved peripheral coverage, and CAPTIVATE lens technology integrated across the kit.

Engineered airflow channels around the frame create active air circulation past the inner lens surface — preventing the warm-air buildup that causes lens fog. Unlike passive venting (which relies on wearer movement), Dynamic Ventilation works at low movement and stationary positions where passive venting fails. For overwatch, surveillance, and range work it keeps the lens clear when standard frames fog; for active use it adds margin on top of motion-driven airflow.

The foam gasket is removable. Installed, the frame seals against the face for dust, debris, and contamination protection — for shooting in dusty range environments, vehicle work, demolition-adjacent tactical use. Removed, it’s an open-architecture sunglass — more comfortable for sustained wear, more breathable, easier to clean. Dynamic Ventilation works in both. Most buyers keep the gasket in the case and install it when the environment calls for it.

Standard Breach 2.5 fits median adult faces (PDs 60-66 mm; lens 64x40mm, bridge 18mm, temples 116mm). Breach 2.5 XL fits broader temple-to-temple measurements and PDs above 66 mm. Both share the same certification stack and lens technology — pick by fit (non-prescription lenses only). Each fit is sold as its own listing.

ANSI Z87.1+ for US industrial high-velocity impact (OSHA 1910.133 industrial PPE), and MIL-PRF-32432A for US military ground-troop spectacle ballistic protection (.15 caliber V0 ballistic test). The dual cert is consistent across the Breach 2.5 line — every SKU carries both, unlike some Wiley X models where MIL-PRF is reserved for select SKUs only.
